Cordless drills are made by many manufacturers, Metabo probably being one of the more familiar names but there are lots of others.
 
Bosch, Ryobi and Dewalt are just a few, although these drills tend toward the amateur or semi-professional they can and should find a place in the tradesmans kit.
 
Makita, Metabo and Hilti cordless SDS drills are geared for the professional and they are designed and built for a hard life. Motors, batteries and gearboxes are generally more robust and with Li-ION battery technology they are longer lasting, lighter and will take more recharge cycles.

though tending to be more expensive they are a better choice for the reasons given above. In addition they have a much lesser tendency to self discharge, that is they will not go flat if left in the van for a couple of weeks when you go on holiday.
