De Walt DC223 24V Cordless Drill
The Dewalt DC223 24V cordless SDS hammer drill has been around for a couple of years and gained quite a few friends, the vertical mount motor has been taken up by several manufacturers since Dewalt first brought it out so it must be a good idea.
In combination with the vertical motor the back slung battery makes the DC223 a very comfortable tool to hold. The Dewalt anti-vibration design helps to guard against that tingling feeling that you get with a lot of drills when you have a lot of drilling to do.
The 2.1 Joules of impact power also allow this cordless to drive a masonry bit through bricks and blocks with ease. The rotary stop mode lets you use the tool for chasing and chiselling and so it is ideally suited to electricians and plumbers for kitchen and bathroom fits.
The power is supplied from a Ni-Cad battery which are a well known technology but it soon be difficult to get replacements as the green brigade fight to get it outlawed.
All in all the Dewalt DC223 24V cordless hammer drill is a good buy but will become outdated fairly soon.
